It all starts with orgone.

His work was largely based on the Freudian concept of libido, and development of his theories on orgone was representative of what he produced later in his career.
It was Reich’s belief that if the human body was deficient of orgone, it could be the root of many diseases and ailments. He conducted many experiments using energy chambers with a group of students, but the work was generally received as highly controversial in the American press and scientific community. Because so much of Reich’s focuses followed Freud’s, he believed sexuality was the motivating factor behind all life, and he raised suspicions of having negative intentions. Unfortunately, much of Reich’s work wasn’t appreciated in its time. The Food and Drug Administration banned him from completing many of his experiments, but he conducted them anyway – he was imprisoned for his violations and died in jail in 1957 at age 60.
In the end, Reich convinced many that organic materials attract and keep orgone energy, while non-organic metals simultaneously attract and repel it. Based on his findings, others figured out how to make those two factors work together to bring about positive energy on a personal level.
